So, here's my first 'Teaser' from 'Mr. Tucket' by Gary Paulsen:
'"You did what?"
"Now don't get rattled Mr. Tucket. Didn't those Pawnee boys teach you anything about wrestling?"
Francis's eyes scanned the crowd around them, looking for his possible competitor. "Yes Mr. Grimes, the Pawnees did teach me something about wrestling."
"Well, then..."
"They taught me how to lose."'
Mr. Tucket is a children's book about a fourteen year old boy in the Old West. Heading to Oregon with his family on a wagon train, he is captured by Pawnees and his many adventures start from there. I read the first two books as a kid, but hadn't realised that the author had finished the series. That always bothered me, because the books were so good! I was thinking about them the other day and decided to have a look on Amazon. Turns out three more were written, so I ordered the omnibus! So excited to find out what actually happens in the end!
This sounds like a terrific series. I'll keep it in mind for my granddaughter when she gets a little older. Actually, I think I'd enjoy reading it myself, right now!
